    Vector Fields

    Problem, sketch the given vector fields in R2

    F = (x,x^2)
    F = (x^2,x)
    F = (y^2,y)

    Please do not sketch the feilds, I need an explination on how to do it. What is the difference between the third and the second problem. My intuition says that they are both square root problems and only the orientation has changed.

    Please help

    Select suitable grid points over an appropriate region and at each of these
    points sketch an arrow pointing in the direction of F, and length proportional
    to |F|.

    You could also sketch the level curves F=k1, F=k2, ...
