    differentiate e^-2y with respect to x.

    Its a chain rule problem...

    \frac{\,d}{\,dx}\left[e^{-2y}\right]=e^{-2y}\cdot\frac{\,d}{\,dx}\left[-2y\right]

    What do you think \frac{\,d}{\,dx}\left[-2y\right] is??
