    how to use derivative to find points?

    Use the derivative of the function y=f(x) to find the points at which f has a a) local maximum b) local minimum or c) point of inflection.

    y'= (x-1)^2 (x-2)

    I don't get what i'm suppose to do,

    I don't get what i'm suppose to do,
    local max ... y' changes sign from positive to negative

    local min ... y' changes sign from negative to positive

    inflection points ... y'' = 0 and changes sign
