Inventing transformations
Invent a transformation that transforms $x^2 + y^2$ < 1 onto the rectangle 0 < u < 2, 0 < v < 1 .

Maybe even just a start on it would be helpful.

You can use polar coordinates: $(x,y)\mapsto (r,\theta)$ (radius and angle).
