Thread: Finding local max and minimums

g(X)=x+2sinx, 0 less than or equal to X which is less than or equal to 2pie
for the first derivative i got
g'(x)=1+2cosx
g'(x)=0, 1+2cosx=0
cosx = -(1/2)
There is another number, how do i figure it out?

Find the critical numbers by solving for X.
Then do the first derivative test.
