$\displaystyle \ln{\sqrt{1+t^2}} = \frac{1}{2} \ln(1+t^2)$

$\displaystyle \frac{d}{dt}[\ln{u}] = \frac{1}{u} \cdot \frac{du}{dt}$

2a.**y= s/(1+2s)**

use the quotient rule

2b.**y= e^-u cos u**

use the product rule and chain rule
