It's actually quite simple. Let $\displaystyle \frac{cos(x)}{sin(x)}=cot(x)$ $\displaystyle \int \frac{cos(x)}{sin(x)}dx$ Now, let u=sin(x), du=cos(x). Then we get: $\displaystyle \int \frac{1}{u}du=ln(u)$ Resub: $\displaystyle ln(sin(x))$
