1. lim x->-2 [(2- l x l) /(2+x)

l x l = the absolute value of x.

$\lim_{x \to 2} \frac{2 - |x|}{2+x}$

The absolute value here is redundant, since x is not approaching a negative value. Simply plug and chug.

whoops sorry forgot to put -2, its approaching -2.

When x is negative, $\frac{2 - |x|}{2 + x} = \frac{2 + x}{2 + x}$. Does that help?
