For what value of the constant c is the function f continuous on (-, )? I'm just sitting here with a face like this ---> Do I need to factor something? Or rationalize?

For f to be continuous it needs to not have any jumps in it. Especially at x=2. So you want to find c so that $\displaystyle c (2^2) + 2 \times 2 = 2^3 - c \times 2$ (by sticking x=2 into both the parts of that equation and making them equal).
nice, that’s really cleary explained Matt +1 rep from me
