1. ## INTEGRATION Problem....

Hi Guys,

Can anybody give me a hand answering this little problem?

It's a pretty straight forward (for somebody who is good with integration - unfortunately i'm not).

I have uploaded a screenshot of my problem to the following webpage:

Any help much appreciated.

So it is
$\displaystyle \pi \int_1^2 [f(x)]^2 dx$
Thus,
$\displaystyle \pi \int_1^2 (2e^{2x}+1)^2dx$
Thus,
$\displaystyle \pi \int_1^2 4e^{4x}+4e^{2x}+1dx$
Thus,
$\displaystyle \pi \left( e^{4x}+2e^{2x}+x \right) \big|^2_1$Thus,
$\displaystyle \pi(e^8+2e^4+2-e^4-2e^2-1)=\pi(e^8+e^4-2e^2+1)$

3. So the final answer is a formula? Not a whole number?

the answer is $\displaystyle \pi(e^8+e^4-2e^2+1)$
