I need to find out what the taylor series expansion is for (R^2-x^2)^(1/2) R is just a constant? I have looked everywhere and I can't seem to find it.

$(R^2-x^2)^{\frac{1}{2}} = R \left( 1- \left( \frac{x}{r} \right)^2 \right)^{\frac{1}{2}}$

I presume you know the binomial expansion.
