The process of solving a Ricatti equation is a bit different, due to substitutions that need to be made in order to make it a 2nd order linear DE. However, when solving a Bernoulli's Equation, you make the substitution , which makes the DE linear as well. I believe the Bernoulli's equation is easier to solve.
