Calculate the force (in Newtons) required to push a 20kg wagon up a 0.5 radian inclined plane. One Newton (N) is equal to 1, and the force due to gravity on the wagon is , where is the mass of the wagon, and is the acceleration due to gravity (9.8). Please ignore friction in this problem.

Please help!

2. Don't think you need calculus for this.

As you push the wagon up the incline, the component of gravity parallel to the incline ( $F_{||} = mg\sin 0.5$) is what counteracts the force you're providing. So, the force you provide must be equal to this (in which case the wagon would be moving at a constant velocity) or greater (in which there will be a net force accelerating the wagon upward).

3. I'm inputting [20(9.8)sin(0.5)] into the program accepting my answers and it is claiming it incorrect. Am I doing something wrong?
