Therefore $\frac{D[\log_a(u(x))]}{dx}=\frac{D[\frac{\ln(u(x))}{\ln(a)}]}{dx}=\frac{1}{\ln(a)}\frac{D[\ln(u(x))]}{dx}$ $=\frac{u'(x)}{\ln(a)u(x)}$
