how to find area and volume of double helix using integration

i hope this is the right place to post this question.

the problem is that i need to find the area and volume of a double helix(shape of DNA) using integration.please help me

Two dimensional or three dimensional? If this is 2-D then I bet you can model the double helix using the sine or cosine functions. Do you have an equation modeling the double helix shape of DNA?
