1. ## Asymptote or not?

I haven't done maths in ages so my confidence is pretty low with I guess.

Just a quick question...

y = 3^x + 1

x: -2 -1 0 1 2 3
y=3^x+1: 1 1/9 1 1/3 1 4 10 28

I was just wondering whether these values are correct or not because 1 1/3 is slightly larger than just 1 so it can't be an asymptote?

Code:
x:      -2      -1     0   1   2
y:   1.1111   1.3333   2   4   10
By looking at the function I cannot see any other asymptotes it might have, except for a horisontal asymptote $y = 1$

3. By the way, it is a bit hard to make out your table, but it seems you think $3^0 = 0$

That is not true.

Anything to the power zero is 1

EXCEPT $0^0$ which is undefined

4. Ohhh thank you.

I see where I went wrong now...

I did 3^0 but forgot to +1 the 1 to get 2.

Thank mate.
