    Put y = f(x) = 9^{2x} Take the natural logarithm of both sides to obtain ln(y) = (2x)ln(9) . Now use implicit differentiation, that is \frac{1}{y}dy = 2ln(9)dx => \frac{dy}{dx} = 2yln(9) = 2ln(9)9^{2x}. I apologize for the lack of Latex skills.
