Put $y = f(x) = 9^{2x}$ Take the natural logarithm of both sides to obtain $ln(y) = (2x)ln(9)$. Now use implicit differentiation, that is $\frac{1}{y}dy = 2ln(9)dx => \frac{dy}{dx} = 2yln(9) = 2ln(9)9^{2x}$. I apologize for the lack of Latex skills.
