# Thread: Parametric equations for a line.

1. ## Parametric equations for a line.

Find parametric equations for the line through (2, 4, 6) that is perpendicular to the plane x - y + 3z = 7.

I think you have to find the normal to this plane and then plug in some results, but how do I get the normal? Or perhaps go about this problem in some other way?

Thank you

the normal to a plane $ax + ny + cz = d$ is simply $\vec n = $

A normal to the plane $ax + by + cz = d$ is $ai + bj + ck$ .......
