Calc questions
1. F(x) = (34-.0612p)p^(-0.658) Find F'(x)

I want to apply the chain rule but I can't see how to form F(x) because of those two p's.

2. It takes a stone 3 seconds to hit the ground when dropped from the top of a building. How high is the building and what is the stone's velocity upon impact?

Am I dense? Can you solve this problem given only this? (Headbang)

try product rule on the first.

2nd one is not going to be an exact answer from what I can tell. It will be something theoretical, like the height is 2h\t or whatever. I may be wrong though. Seems like a physics question I had a while ago.

sorry cant help to much.

If you expand the function, you wont need the chain rule:

$F(x) = (34 - 0.0612p)p^{ - 0.658} = 34p^{ - 0.658} - 0.0612p^{1 + ( - 0.658)} = 34p^{ - 0.658} - 0.0612p^{0.342}$

Can you find the derivative now?
