    number of significant figure

    I dont understand this question . The author want the at least 2 significant correct . why 0.5x10^(2-m) is used ?

    It's not clear that the author want the answer to be less than 5 ?50? 0.5 ? 0.05 ?or 0.005?

    Hey xl5899.

    They want to look at so many significant digits.

    Do you understand what it means to check if something is less than 10^(-x)?

    Note that the 0.5 makes sure that if you round up or down then you still have significance.
