Hi, I need help on this question.
two particles, A and B move in the plane of cartesian coordinate axes 0x, 0y. At time t seconds the position vectors of A and B referred as the origin are (t^2i + 4tj)m and [2ti + (t + 1)j]m respectively.
1. Prove that they never collide.
2. Show that the velocity of B is constant, and calculate the magnitude and direction of this velocity.
3. Find the value of t when A and B have parallel velocities, and find the distance between A and B at this instant.
I'm really stuck and don't even know where to start so can someone show me a step to step solution please.
They collide if and only if: t^2 = 2t and 4t = t+1. Meaning the components are the same.
