That's a very logical (and classic) approach and works perfectly for numerical integration, determing the exact value will be harder this way - unfortunately.
You must admit, it's nice to see that this integral converges to the simple pi/2 (and since it's symmetric, it converges to pi if you let x go from -inf to inf).
