Thread: Trouble finding volume of revolution..

The region bounded by the curve y=(sin(x)^4)/x and the x-axis between [0,pi] is revolved about the y-axis to generate a solid. Find the volume of the solid.

So , I'm having some trouble figuring out what to do after trying to integrate the area of the washer which is the function squared times pi. Any help is appreciated. Thanks

use the shell method, washers not needed.




(by the way, if you did what i think you did, you're wrong. it seems you used the disk washer method. first of all, you should know that if you're using that, you have to rewrite the function as a function of y and change the limits, etc. that's too much trouble)
