    Prime Factors

    I was wondering if there's a faster way to solve this.

    What is the number of prime factors of 2013?
    a) 1
    b) 3
    c) 5
    d) 7
    e) 9

    if there were a fast way of finding the prime factors of a number all of our cryptography would be broken

    Yeah, pretty much the only way is to factor the number and count the factors. Since 2013 = 3 * 11 * 61, the answer is 3.
