# absolute max/min question for function involving e

absolute max/min question for function involving e
f(x) = 3xe-8x, 0 ≤ x ≤ 2

I don't know how to find the absolute maximum and minimum values.

Could you show an example of how to do so, step-by-step, for this question (or a similar one)?

get the first derivative and set it equal to zero .search for the solution wich is 1/8
there is the max.....the other min is 0.

I am not sure that I understand your question. Are you asking about the difference between global and local extrema?

You shouldn't need the graph. In general, in addition to f'=0, you need to ck end points.
