Hi, I 've just started Pre-calculus this semester, wonder-can anyone explain to me why the following limits exist or not? PleaseDO NOT use ANY advanced mathematical methods to solve it.

The answer is Does not exist. Please explain why.

No.2

$\displaystyle {$$\displaystyle \lim _{n \to \infty} \frac {(-2)^n}{n} $

The answer given by tutor is "it has NO limit since |-2|> 1". Why |-2|> 1?Why NOT "-2 < 1"? I don't understand the whole statement, especially |-2|> 1.
