    I studied this for a while and I found I developed a question about c). I feel I understand whats being calculated at c to a good degree but I still wonder about why h(5) suddenly moves to the right when in the previous a) and b) the large h(+) is on the left. I see that in a) and b) this is done so the value of h() comes out as a negative. Why would then h(5) in c) be on the right? I calculated it and it works fine from what I can remember.

    in each one it is the larger distance travelled subtracting the smaller distance traveled in order to give you the distance in the interval of the test tube because average velocity is equal to distance travelled over time elapsed.

    Yes I see what you are saying. I think what is going on is the - is brought back out by factoring out a -1 in the last step. Also I see what he is saying it doesn't really matter just make sure you change the sign. The first two are in the most direct order. I'm trying to understand thoroughly what is going on.
