1. ## 2 Trig Questions - easy plz help :)

lol ok... i have all of these questions because i have a test tomorrow and i haven't been paying attention so... i'm cramming >_< ok two pretty easy questions this looks like.

1) Find cot θ, if tan θ = 0.2764.

2) Use a calculator to find the function value cot 37.4°

recall that $\cot \theta = \frac 1{\tan \theta}$

3. ## ermm

still dunno man >_< i don't have any notes for this :S

1) Find cot θ, if tan θ = 0.2764.
$\cot \theta = \frac 1{\tan \theta} = \frac 1{0.2764}$

now plug that into your calculator and work it out

2) Use a calculator to find the function value cot 37.4°
$\cot 37.4^o = \frac 1{\tan 37.4^o}$

now plug that into your calculator

5. ## hmmm

im not getting the right answer.. i don't know why >_< i've been trying forever i can't seem to get the correct answer.

for the first: $\cot \theta = 3.617945$

for the second, $\cot 37.4^o = 1.3079457$

i don't know what to tell you, from here it's just plugging into your calculator. are you sure you're inputting it correctly?

7. ## yeah

i have the correct answers here but i'm not plugging it in right. i don't know what i'm missing >_< how do i plug these in?

my calculator may not work the same way yours does:

for the first, i entered: $\boxed{1}~ \boxed{ \div }~ \boxed{0} ~\boxed{.}~ \boxed{2}~ \boxed{7} ~\boxed{6}~ \boxed{4}$

it looks like $1 \div 0.2764$ on my display screen

for the second i entered: $\boxed{1} ~\boxed{\div} ~\boxed{ (}~ \boxed{ \mbox{tan}}~ \boxed{(}~ \boxed{3}~ \boxed{7}~ \boxed{.} ~\boxed{4}~ \boxed{)} ~\boxed{)}$

it looks like $1 \div ( \tan (37.4) )$ on my display screen

9. ## ummm

i'm getting the correct answer for the first one but not the second.

it's making me go crazy :S

make sure your calculator is in degrees mode, it may be set to radian mode or something

11. ## yeah

it was in rads >_< lol that was the problem... wow ... lol oh god >_< thanks man.
