<5,1> = c1v1 + c2v2
Where c1 and c2 are scalars and v1 and v2 are vectors

As stated the problem has an infinite number of solutions!

Here are two possible solutions...

\$\displaystyle c_1=5,v_1=<1,0>,c_2=1,v_2=<0,1>\$

or

\$\displaystyle c_1=1,v_1=<5,5>,c_2=-2,v_2=<0,2>\$

Yes, I think you might have neglected to tell us what \$\displaystyle \bold{v_1}\$ and \$\displaystyle \bold{v_2}\$ are....

If that's the case, you would just need to set up and solve two equations in two unknowns.
