Differential Equation Question
What is the difference between finding the difference equation, finding the general solution, and finding the particular solution?
My take on finding the particular solution, its a particular solution if you given an initial condition such as y=2 when x=-3... am I right?
The general solution is when you find y but still don't know what C is... am I right?
Re: Differential Equation Question
Basically, yes. The "general solution" is a function that, for different values of the 'undetermined coefficients' gives all solutions to the equation. A "particular solution" is one of those.
