So you have $\displaystyle y=x^\frac{1}{2}+5x^{-\frac{1}{2}}$ on problem 7 and $\displaystyle 3x^\frac{1}{2}+x^{-\frac{1}{2}}$ on problem 8, and you can use the power rule.
