Thread: Economic based problem.

Hi guys,

I'm stuck with a simple calculus problem.

I have to maximise wrt to both x 1 and 2 and express x1 in terms of x2.

p.x₁^1/2x₂^3/4 - (5x₁ + 10x₂₎

I know this should be quite but I have forgotten all the laws etc I need to use. Apparently the answer should be:

x₁^1/2 = 40/p.x₂^3/4

Differentiate with respect to and and set them equal to 0. That will give two equations to solve for and .
