    Economic based problem.

    Hi guys,

I'm stuck with a simple calculus problem.

I have to maximise wrt to both x 1 and 2 and express x1 in terms of x2.

    p.x11/2x23/4 - (5x1 + 10x2)

I know this should be quite but I have forgotten all the laws etc I need to use. Apparently the answer should be:

    x11/2 = 40/p.x23/4

    Thanks for any help

    Re: Economic based problem.

Differentiate with respect to x_1 and x_2 and set them equal to 0. That will give two equations to solve for x_1 and x_2.
