    Chain rule problem

    Hey everyone, i had a question, well about 5, but im not able to answer them. if you guys help explain the problem below, i should be able to do the rest by myself

    find dy/dx if y= (u^2 - 1) and u = (1 / (x - 1))

    can you also explain with words so that i can know what is happening

    From the chain rule, we have:

    \frac{dy}{dx}=\frac{dy}{du}\cdot\frac{du}{dx}

    Find \frac{dy}{du} and \frac{du}{dx} and plug them into the formula above. Rewrite u in terms of x.
