    Lagrange problem

    my question is -
    utuility function U(x y) = 7x^3/7 y^4/7 with prices p1 and p2 for the 2 good x and y and income level M.
    using lagrange sove the optimal choice problem and determine the demand function for goods x and y.

    Can you start me off

    Re: Lagrange problem

    is it
    7x^3/7 y^4/7 - Lagrange (xp1 + yp2 - m)

    then

    x = 0 = 3x^-4/7 - lagrange p1
    y = 0 = 4X^-3/7 - lagrange p2
    lagrange = 0 = xp1 + yp2 - m
