Math Help - "formally tends to?"

    "formally tends to?"

    Hi!

    I'm not really sure this is the right forum for this, but here it goes. I was just going through a proof and came across the expresion "formally tends to"... is this the same as "tends to"? You know like if x tends to 0 f(x) tends to 5 (or whatevs.).
