Thread: lagrange multipler

by using lagrange multiplier
we can find the maximum or minimum value of F(x,y)

we know when using application of differentiation we need to reduce to 1 variables
and then do (second d) in order to determine whether it is maximum or minimum

however in lagrange multiplier
it don't need to (second d)
so how can we know it is maximum or minimum???
