Thread: optimizing space on paper

A rectangular page is to contain square inches of printable area. The margins at the top and bottom of the page are each inch, one side margin is inch, and the other side margin is inches. What should the dimensions of the page be so that the least amount of paper is used?

Side-to-side width= inches?
Top-to-bottom height= inches?

Did you copy and paste? How come I don't see any numbers?

Ah. For some reason I couldn't even see the symbols, I just thought the numbers were intentionally omitted or something. I still don't see any numbers >.<
