$f(x) \:=\:\begin{Bmatrix}mx & \text{ if }x < 4 \\ x^2 & \text{ if }x \ge 4 \end{array}$

$\text{Find values of }m\text{ and }n\text{ so }f(x)\text{ is continuous.}$

Equate both branches of the function.
Substitute $x = 4.$
Solve for $m.$

are you saying 4m=16 and solve for m=4???
