Hey guys so i have a question that i just dont know where to start or what to do

limits and continuity:
1)A function value: show that F(x)=[(x-a)^2][(x-b)^2] + x takes on the value (a + b)/2 for some value of x.
Thanks so much.

Thanks so much.

set $(x - a)^2(x - b)^2 + x = \frac {a + b}2$ and solve for $x$
