solving for 0
I don't know how to solve for 1-arctan(x)*(2x)/(x^2+1)^2 = 0
according to a maple the answer is -.7653789267.
I know the denominator doesn't factor into the solution.

you cannot solve this equation by hand ...

$1 - 2x\arctan{x} = 0$

$x = \pm 0.7653789267$
