    finding asymptote location

Hello, I am trying to locate where any vertical or horizontal asymptotes are on the graph of f(x) = {x} / (x-1)^2.

I know the shortcut method of finding them, but could someone please show me the other method that involves taking limits etc.

    Thanks for any help.

    Re: finding symptote location

As x-> + inf function -> 0 from above the x axis and from below when x-> -inf so x axis is a horizontal asymptote. As x -> 1 function -> + inf so x=1 is a vertical asymptote.
