Thread: U substitution help

I don't understand what happens to the du for u subsitution when solving for integrals. I understand that u is the innermost function and the antiderivative of it is what we need to find to solve the intergral but what happens to the du?

After the substitution you are integrating with respect to du. After you have integrated, it disapears, just like a dx does.
