    Post another question needs help

find the volume of the wedge cut from the cylinder 4x^2 +y^2 =9 by the planes z=0 and z=y+3.

    Thanks.

It's nicely centered at the Origin.

You can solve the equation for x or y.

Can you determine the lengths of the major and minor axes?

    Please show your work.

I get \iint_A y+3 \ dA where A = \{ (x,y)| 4x^2+y^2 = 9\}. Now set up the double intergral. (If you know use to use "Jacobians" then use them here change the ellipse into a circle and convert to polar coordinates).
