# Thread: Eulers Method

"Use Euler's method to find an approximate value of y(2.8), if y(x) is the solution to y'(y/x), and y(2) = 3. Use h = 0.2."

It is an extension question i my text book which no one in my class seems to be able to answer (including the teacher)

Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

For $y'=f(x,y),\;y(x_0)=y_0$ , use the corresponding recurrence formula $y_{n+1}=y_n+hf(x_n,y_n)$.

I suppose your equation is $y'=y/x$ (you forgot the equality sign) . So $(x_0,y_0)=(2,3)$ , $(x_1,y_1)=(2.2\;,\;3+0.2(3/2))=\ldots$ etc. Then $y(2.8)\approx y_4$ .
