    how would you solve this?

    Average height of plants P and R change according to the graph. When do the plants have the same growth?

    Do you mean the same height? That would be the point t on the horizontal axis when the values of the functions are the same.

    plant R has a growth rate of (10 cm)/(6 months)

    translate line R until it is tangent to curve P ... just eyeballing it, I'd say somewhere between t = 2 and t = 4 months
