Math Help - Cubic with complex roots

    Cubic with complex roots

    Is there any visual way to distinguish between a cubic 3 equal real roots, or a cubic with a single real root and two complex roots?

    My guess is that the real root case always has a point of inflexion at the root, but the complex root case does not, but is that true in every case?
