Hello everyone, I am currently stuck on this six part question. I understand that my request is lengthy but I would truly appreciate if someone could show me the solution to these problems or at least help me get started on the first part.

2. If $\displaystyle f(x) = ax^n$

then $\displaystyle f'(x) = anx^{n-1}$

So for part a) would the derivative of f(x) "with respect to x" be $\displaystyle f'(x) = 2ax+b$ ?
