For e),f),g) you're supposed to find the derivative at the given points, i.e. how much the curve slopes there. The limits given are simply the definition of the derivative at the point x=a. As for h), you should first notice that f(x) is not continuous at x=1, while |f(x)| is.


Actually, I would not write down the equations. You only need to find the slopes of the lines in e and f and the derivative in g should be obvious from the graph.
Colrelm1, the is not an exercise in any kind of computation- it is question of whether you understand what derivatives and limits are. All the answers can be read off the graph.
