This may be easy question, but i m beginner and i m kind of confuse so please help!

how are you supposed to do this ... using calculus or not? (there is more than one way to do it)

you should be familiar w/ the distance formula ...

$D = \sqrt{(x_2-x_1)^2 + (y_2-y_1)^2}$

points are $(x,5-2x)$ and $(0,0)$

$D = \sqrt{(x-0)^2 + [(5-2x)-0]^2}$

simplify, find $D'$ and minimize like you were taught in class ...
